BIT Project Receives Smart Growth Award
Park Place, a new AFL-CIO Building Investment Trust (BIT) development in Hoboken, recently received a 2013 Smart Growth Award from the Hudson County Planning Board.
Park Place was selected for its innovative, eco-conscious design and green infrastructure. Features will include a green roof terrace, a combined heat and power module that will produce hot water and electricity from a single source, energy star appliances, zero voc paint, and special accommodations for electric cars and bicycles. Also, all usable concrete from the demolition of the parking garage that once occupied the site will be used for construction. The property is expected to achieve an LEED Gold certification.
The $131 million project will feature 212 rental residences, 13,000 sf of retail space and 32,000 sf of educational space. The 12-story project is being developed by the BIT in partnership with Bijou Properties and Tishman Construction.
